Built on Real Experience, Driven by Practical Solutions

We started MaxonOnward in early 2023 after spending years watching businesses struggle with payment systems that just didn't work the way they should. Our focus is simple — make transaction processing actually reliable.

How We Got Here

The idea came from working with a mid-sized retail chain in Taipei that was losing around 8% of transactions to system errors. Not fraud, not chargebacks — just plain technical failures. Their provider kept saying it was normal. It wasn't.

We spent six months building a custom solution that cut their error rate to under 0.3%. Word spread faster than we expected. By mid-2024, we were handling payment automation for seventeen businesses across Taiwan, from online marketplaces to brick-and-mortar stores trying to modernize their checkout flow.

What surprised us most wasn't the technical challenges — those we could solve. It was how many businesses were putting up with systems that clearly weren't working because they thought the problems were inevitable. They're not. Good payment processing shouldn't require constant workarounds or manual fixes.

What Guides Our Work

These aren't corporate buzzwords. They're the practical principles that shape how we build systems and work with clients every day.

Honest Communication

We tell you what we can actually fix and what limitations exist. If your current provider is doing something right, we'll say so. If a problem needs hardware upgrades beyond our scope, we'll point you in the right direction rather than overpromise.

Technical Depth

Our team has built payment systems from scratch. We understand the infrastructure layer, not just the interface. That means we can diagnose issues other providers miss and build solutions that actually scale with your business growth.

Long-Term Thinking

Quick fixes create bigger problems later. We design systems that adapt as payment standards change and your transaction volume grows. Our oldest client from 2023 is still running on their original infrastructure with only routine updates.

The People Behind the Systems

Our team came together through a mix of referrals and chance meetings at fintech conferences. Everyone here has spent at least five years in payment technology before joining MaxonOnward. That shared background means we speak the same technical language and approach problems from similar angles — which makes collaboration smoother and solutions more cohesive.

Siobhan Kilbride

Technical Director

Siobhan spent seven years building backend infrastructure for a major European payment processor before moving to Taiwan in 2022. She designed the core architecture that handles our transaction routing and built most of our error detection systems. Outside work, she's usually hiking somewhere in Taroko Gorge or teaching weekend coding workshops for teenagers.

Anouk Delvaux

Client Solutions Lead

Anouk bridges the gap between what businesses need and what's technically possible. She started her career in merchant services in Brussels, then worked for three years at a payment gateway startup that eventually got acquired. She joined us in early 2024 and has since helped over thirty businesses optimize their transaction workflows without requiring complete system overhauls.

How We Approach New Projects

Every business has different payment needs based on their volume, industry, and existing infrastructure. Here's how we figure out what actually makes sense for your situation.

1

System Assessment

We start by analyzing your current transaction flow and identifying where issues actually occur. This takes about a week and involves reviewing your error logs, processing times, and failure patterns. Most businesses discover their problems are concentrated in two or three specific areas rather than system-wide.

2

Custom Solution Design

Based on what we find, we design automation that targets your specific bottlenecks. Sometimes that's routing optimization, sometimes it's error recovery protocols, sometimes it's API integration improvements. We show you exactly what we're building and why each component matters for your business.

3

Gradual Implementation

We roll out changes incrementally rather than switching everything at once. You'll run new systems parallel to your existing setup for at least two weeks, giving you time to verify everything works as expected. If something isn't right, we adjust before making the transition permanent.

4

Ongoing Optimization

Payment technology changes constantly. We monitor your system performance monthly and recommend updates when new opportunities emerge — whether that's improved routing algorithms, better fraud detection, or integration with new payment methods your customers start requesting.
